BOPANNA AND MATWE ENTER DOUBLES FINAL OF EUROPEAN OPEN

Second seeds Rohan Bopanna of India and Matwe Middelkoop of Netherlands Stormed into doubles final of the €725,540 in the European Open in Antwerp.

In the semi-final Bopanna and Matwe prevailed over the Neterlands duo of Sander Arends and David Pel by 7-6 (6)6 2-6 10-7 in one hour and 26 minutes.

After splitting the first two sets Bopanna and Matwe clinch the match tie-breaker set bt 10–7 as the won the last three sucessive points as they were tied at 7-7.

In the first set Bopanna and Matwe took an early lead by breaking the serve of the Netherlands pair in the first game and then deld their sreve in the second game to make it 2-0. Sander Arends and David Pel managed to break Bopanna and Matwe in the 10th game to level the score 5-5. However, Bopanna and Matwe won the opening set in tie-breaker.

Sander Arends and David Pel easily won the second set by breaking the serve of Bopanna and Matwe in the third and seventh games which the won in 28 minutes.

YUKI-SAKETH UPSET: Top seeds Indian pair of Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni were upset by Korean pair of Ji Sung Nam and Minkyu Song in the $159,360 Busan Open, Korea by 6-3, 6-1.

The Indian players suffered breaks in the 5th and 9th games in the first set. And in the second set Yuki and Saketh were broken in the second and fourth games. Nam and Song converted four out of six breakpoints while the Indians wasted the lone breakpoint which came their way.

Yuki and Saketh earned $3240 and 45 points.
