TWO DE-ADDICTION CENTRES, 6 OOAT CLINICS OPERATIONAL IN FAZILKA DISTRICT: DR. SENU DUGGAL

Fazilka district administration is going to launch a campaign for the treatment of drug addicts. Two rehabilitation centres and 6 OOAT clinics are operational in the district to give treatment to such people.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal said that if someone is suffering from drug addiction, he or she can get free treatment from the health department. De-addiction centres are operational at Fazilka and Abohar where IPD services are available. The treatment is completely free. Six OOAT clinics are also operational at Rehabilitation Center Jattwali Fazilka, Civil Hospitals Abohar and Jalalabad, CHC Khuikhera, Dabwala Kalan and Seetogunno. Patients at OOAT clinics do not have to be admitted and can take the medicine at home.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Satish Goyal said that people suffering from drug addiction should immediately meet a psychiatrist in the government hospitals of Abohar, Fazilka and Jalalabad to avail of treatment facility after examination.

Psychiatrist Dr. Mahesh Kumar said that after treatment, the drug addicts can become normal. The identity of the person undergoing treatment is kept completely confidential.
