To deal with bad elements strictly, Fazilka district police today launched a special search operation in the border area. DIG Inderbir Singh himself arrived to review this campaign. He also visited Jalalabad as well as Hasta Kalan and Tiwana villages and inspected the investigations being carried out by the police teams here.

The DIG said that a comprehensive campaign against drug traffickers and other anti-social elements has been launched by the police and good results are beginning to emerge.

SSP Avneet Kaur Sidhu said that the police were keeping an eye on all sensitive places and suspicious persons in the district along with the inter-state checkpoints. DSP Kailash Chander, who was leading the checking campaign in village Hasta Kalan, said that in this way it is getting easier to control the bad elements and it increases the confidence in the minds of law-abiding people.
