Municipal Corporation Abohar has set a new record by generating revenue of Rs 1106.85 lakhs against the annual budgeted target of Rs 955.50 lakhs during the financial year 2022-23. With this, the Corporation has got additional income for the development of the city. This information was shared by the Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal, who also has the additional charge of Commissioner of the Abohar MC.
She said that the MC has collected property tax more than the target during the financial year 2022-23. In the budget of MC for the year 2022-23, the target of tax collection from property tax/house tax was Rs 230.32 lakh, but with good governance, property tax/house tax of Rs.316.02 lakhs was collected by the MC in the said financial year.
(SUBHEAD)Dr. Duggal has been continuously working to bring the Abohar MC forward. Along with holding the chair of the Deputy Commissioner, she regularly visits the office of the MC here too, to monitor its functioning.
The Corporation has received an income of Rs 12 lakhs against Rs 3.50 lakhs from advertisement tax, which is much more than the target. Similarly, the MC Welfare Society has also received an income of Rs 203.93 lakh during the year. The income under this head was Rs 159.78 lakh in the year 2021-22.
