City Mayor, Sardar Amarjeet Singh Sidhu said that we are moving forward with the vision of ensuring quality roads in Mohali matching international standards.
Sidhu said that a concrete solution has been devised to solve the problem of road deterioration, in which roads will be scratched in the first phase and then a new road will be re-built with a new strategy. He said that this will help in maintaining the quality of roads for a longer period of time along with upholding the increasing level of roads.(SUBHEAD)
He said that various progressive decisions have been taken after multiple rounds of meetings with the PWD (B&R) officers along with other senior officers and members of MC.
He said that adequate arrangements will be made to counter water logging issues during the approaching rainy season. He added that rain water control plan work is on our top priority. He further stated that Mohali MC will set a unique example for other corporations to follow in resolving water logging issues.
He informed that work of re-carpeting of roads will be completed in Phase- 7 by next 15 days. He further directed the officers of the engineering department of the Mohali municipal corporation to prepare a status report on the road re-carpeting work.
At a meeting held on Friday evening to review the progress of work, the mayor also sought a detailed report on the re-carpeting of roads being done in various villages falling within the civic body’s jurisdiction under the village development plan.
