SUFI SINGERS ENTHRAL MUSIC LOVERS

Rashtriya Kala Mandir organized Sufi Night at Chaudhary Ramjas Kala Sadan on Sunday night. Sufi singers Jagdev Singh Jaggi and Gursewak Ali enthralled music lovers with kalam, Qawwalis and Punjabi folk singing. Beginning with Heer, Tappe and Chhalla, Jagdev Singh Jaggi presented Mahiya tere vekhan nu…, Saamne hove yaar…. Patthar di imarat hai… and Bol Faqira Allah's renditions. Gursewak Ali enthralled the audience with performances like Tu mane ya na mane dildara, Dama dum mast Qalandar, Nit khair manga sohneya ve teri and Tumhe dillagi bhool jani padegi and Jugni.

Jaspreet Singh, Pankaj and Jeetu supported efficiently on the instruments.

Naresh Jain was the chief guest. President of Rashtriya Kala Mandir Virendra Baid said that the NGO has been encouraging the talents of song and music for more than 70 years. Secretary Shiv Jalan said that Jagdev Jaggi is a music graduate and has been in the singing profession since 2008. He has also been a music teacher. Gursewak Ali comes from a rural background.

There was a different charm in his singing that impressed people a lot. Sunil Sharma conducted the proceedings.
