A 64-year-oldresident of Old Suraj Nagari, Asha Rani, has brought laurels to Abohar by winning three medals in the National Athletic Championship. She hadalso won many medals in various competitions on the strength of her talent in the past.
She recently participated in the 18th National Athletic Championship organised at the Parade Ground, Dehradun. The championship was organised in the memory of the former queen of Alwar Yuvarani Mahendra Kumari. Around 700 people of different age groups from different states participated in the event.Asha Rani won silver medal in relay race, bronze in shotput and silver in long jump competition.
At the age of 64 years, she won’t stop participating in sports events along with her household chores. On her return, she was given a grand welcomehere.
