BORDER SECURITY FORCE INITIATES FLOOD RESCUE EVACUATION OPRERATION IN PUNJAB

Various districts of Punjab are facing flood situation due to the incessant rains lashing the region & continuous water getting released from various dams / Barrages.

The bordering areas / bordering villages under District - Ferozepur are also under flood threat due to heavy rain in the region and water released from Harrike Head (Barrage). River Satluj, which flows in the bordering area of district Ferozepur is flowing with higher water flow and waterlogging has also taken place in various bordering villagers viz :- village - Kalu Wala, Tindi Wala, Nihala Wala, Nihala Labera and other villages that are situated alongside river Satluj.

In view of the current situation, the deployed troops of BSF in co-ordination with civil administration & district police are conducting rescue & evacuation operations for civilians of bordering villages with the help of BSF Water Wing and BSF Boats. Besides, the senior officials of the Border Security Force are in touch with the district administration for rescue and relief work.

BSF spokesman said, BSF commanders at the field are also in touch with respective civil authorities to render all possible assistance.
