In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug suppliers. As per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, under supervision of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, an ANTF team lead by Inspector Satvinder Singh nabbed a lady drug supplier namely Annu and recovered 49.5 grams Heroin from her possession on 14.7.2023 and Case FIR No. 117 Dt. 14.7.2023 U/S 21 NDPS ACT PS-11, UT Chandigarh registered against her.
On 14.7.2023 police party headed by SI Suresh was on Crime Control and prevention patrolling duty in Sector 25, Chandigarh i.e. Police Station 11, area. While police team was near Rally Ground Sector 25, Chandigarh, on suspicion a lady was apprehended with the help police personnel including a lady police official. During search 49.50 Grams Heroin was recovered from her possession. On questioning she disclosed her name Annu W/o Sh. Meema r/o # 2078, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh Age-25 years.
(SUBHEAD)In this regard a Case FIR No. 117 Dt. 14.7.2023 U/S 21 NDPS ACT PS-11, UT Chandigarh registered against her and investigation carried on. A Police remand for 4 days i.e. up till 18.7.2023 was obtained from court. During investigation she disclosed the name of supplier. The supplier Sunny Ram was arrested on 17.7.2023 and u/s 29 NDPS Act was added. Two days police remand of accused Sunny was obtained to ascertain the other drug suppliers in the Chandigarh.
During remand, 20 grams heroin was also recovered.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Annu W/o Sh. Meema r/o # 2078, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh, Age-25 years.
During investigation and from other sources it revealed that she is involved in drug trafficking for a long time and her named figured during questing of some addicts. Her whole family is involved in illegal
drug trafficking and her brother Shammi also had criminal back ground and NDPS Act & other cases registered against him. At present Shammi is at large.
Sunny S/o Sh. Chhanna Ram R/o # 3000, DMC, Sector 38 West, Chandigarh. Aged 24 years. Sunny had criminal past and had been arrested in case FIR No. 37/2019 u/s 21 NDPS Act PS-Maloya, Chandigarh.
MODUS OPERANDI: The lady Annu used to purchase drug from many suppliers and this instances drug was purchased from Sunny r/o DMC, Chandigarh on the cheap rate and use to sell drug to consumers/addicts on high rate, thus earning easy money. She was running this illegal drug trafficking being lady as no one will suspect a lady.
The second accused Sunny was getting this drug from Delhi and further ascertaining the source.
