The Administrator Chandigarh, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit felicitated the sports persons and coaches who have brought laurels not only to themselves but also to Chandigarh today at UT Secretariat in the presence of Sh. Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Nitin Yadav, Home Secretary, Sh. V N Zade, Finance Secretary, Sh. K Sivaprasad, Secretary to Governor Punjab, Sh. Praveer Ranjan, DGP, Sh. Vinod Kavle, Secretary Sports.
The sports enthusiasts have displayed unwavering commitment, determination, and passion in various sports tournaments like Junior Asia Cup held at Oman, Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship, 66th National School Games 2022-23, Junior Boxing National Championship at Itanagar, Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2023 held at Rourkela, Odisha etc.
The sports players have showcased their talents on the national stage their success is a testament to their hard work and dedication. Present during the ceremony were their families who watched them proudly being felicitated by the Administrator.

The Sports department has also acknowledge the pivotal role played by the coaches who have not only imparted valuable skills but also instilled values of discipline and determination. The cash awards have been given to these coaches for their valuable contribution.
The Administrator assured that all the players will get proactive government assistance and continuous upgradation of facilities to match global standards.
