On the occasion of 77th Independence Day, Shri Nitin Agrawal, IPS, DG BSF alongwith Smt Smita Agrawal, President BWWA and Dr Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF Punjab Frontier, attended the wreath laying ceremony at the Martyrs Column, Hussainiwala, Ferozepur (Punjab) and paid floral tribute to the martyrs of 1965 & 1971 Indo – Pak War.
DG BSF unveiled the newly built “BSF Martyrs Memorial” at JCP Hussainiwala and Smt Smita Agrawal, President BWWA inaugurated the “Wadhwa Complex” & “BWWA Souvenir Shop” in the premises of JCP Hussainiwala. A documentary showcasing the Battle of Hussainiwala was also released by President BWWA inside the Wadhwa complex.
DG BSF expressed his gratitude towards Shri Bhagwant Maan, Chief Minister, Punjab Govt. for financial support in building of the ‘BSF Martyrs Memorial’, Hussainiwala and deeply appreciated the efforts of valiant Seema Praharis in relief & rescue operations, during recent floods along the bordering areas of Punjab, especially in Ferozepur sector.
He also thanked the media for their contribution in strengthening the relation between the force and the citizens.
