Dr. Prem Singhmar and Dr. Saroj's son Gaurav and his daughter Radha were warmly welcomed at the Rajyoga Bhawan of Brahma Kumaris here in the presence of Mayor Vimal Thatai, Writers’ Council president Raj Sadosh and Alamgarh village former Sarpanch Rattan Sarswa.
Singhmar doctor couple, having origin in Dharampura village here, had gone to Canada in 1985. They created a Chair in History at University of Alberta. The University has Saroj and Prem Singhmar Chair in Classical Indian Polity and Society, while their support to the Art Gallery of Alberta has made it shine. Dr. Prem Singhmar has also served on the Board of Trustees for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
(SUBHEAD)The family made a valuable contribution in the old-age home at Abohar that now runs “Prayas” a school for special children. The Singhmar family contributed to the community kitchen in Fazilka and the mid-day meal hall in the Government Senior Secondary School Dharampura.
Center in-charge BK Pushpalata welcomed Gaurav and Radha by applying vermilion on their forehead besides tying Rakhis. BK Darshana, BK Sunita and BK Shalu enlightened them about the NGO. They were presented with a divine gift also.
