Vir Naris of martyred military families and ex-servicemen were honored at a function, held in Suratgarh Sriganganagar, by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami who participated as the chief guest.

This was a part of the rallies being organised before the state assembly polls expected in December.
Dhami revealed that his father had served as an officer in the Suratgarh cantonment.

(SUBHEAD)Rajasthan BJP election co-in-charge Kuldeep Bishnoi, special guest Lieutenant General Satyapal Katewa, MP Nihal Chand Meghwal, All India Bishnoi Mahasabha President Devendra Budhia, BJP SC Morcha state president Kailash Meghwal was among the speakers.

Around 170 military families were honored with medals of honour. An amount of Rs 51,000 each was also given to 10 martyr families who were martyred. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that respecting the army families is our honour in itself. It is because of the army that the country is in safe hands. When we are sleeping peacefully, the country's army is deployed on the borders to protect us.

“Having been associated with the army, I have inculcated the same spirit in my family. My father was an officer in the cantonment in Suratgarh. I wanted to meet the soldiers and officers, but the battalion I was in has now been shifted from here”, he said.
