SEVEN ARRESTED FOLLOWING THE RECOVERY OF HEROIN, DRUG MONEY OF RS. 25K RECOVERED

Tightening the noose around the anti-social elements, the police have arrested seven persons in four separate cases under NDPS Act in this border district and have recovered 288 gram heroin along with drug money of Rs. 25,000/-.

While divulging details SP Randhir Kumar said that in the first case the police nabbed two drug smugglers identified as Nishan Singh and Suraj Singh, both residents of Ali ke village and recovered 100 gram heroin and drug money of Rs. 25000/- from them. The accused were booked under NDPS Act at Sadar police station (FIR No. 161 15.09.23).

In other case, two brothers identified as Sucha Singh and Akash, residents of Jodhpur village in Mamdot area were arrested while they were coming on a bike (PB 05 AK 6962). During the checking, 100 gram heroin was recovered from them. The accused were booked under NDPS Act at Mamdot police station (FIR No. 123 Dated 15.09.23).

Two persons identified as Pritpal Singh and Neeraj Kumar, both residents of Mudki area in Ghallkhurd police station were nabbed with 33 gram heroin and one person identified as Surjit Singh resident of Game Wala village in Mamdot was arrested with 55 gram heroin. All the accused were booked under NDPS Act at Ghallkhurd and Mamdot police station respectively (FIR Nos 94 and 122 Dated 15.09.23).

In other case, one female hoocher was arrested following the recovery of 203 bottles of country made liquor at Ali ke village. The accused identified as Kartaro Bai was booked under Excise Act at Sadar police station (FIR No. 162 Dated 15.09.2023).

The SP said that to curb the drug menace and anti-social activities, the police have been conducting search operations and holding public meetings in the entire district.

“Besides, the police is also holding public meetings with the villagers on regular basis to make them aware about the impacts of drug usage and were encouraged to leave the drug addiction”, said SP Randhir.
