DLSA ORGANISES MEDICAL CHECK-UP CAMP FOR INMATES IN SUB JAIL FAZILKA

A medical checkup camp was organized for the inmates in the Fazilka sub jail today by the District Legal Services Authority with the support of the District Administration.

The camp was inaugurated by District and Sessions Judge Jatinder Kaur, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal IAS and SSP Manjit Singh Dhesi.

The senior judicial and civil officers also heard the problems of the prisoners. The officers enquired about the quality of food available in the jail. The DLSA informed the inmates about the free legal aid and explained how they can avail the facility of free lawyer through the authority for the legal proceedings.

The prisoners were encouraged that when they complete their sentence, they will participate in the society as a responsible citizen and will return home with an improvement in their behaviour.

Specialist doctors of the District Civil Hospital conducted a medical check-up of the prisoners and provided them with required medicines.

District Legal Services Authority Secretary Amandeep Singh, Jail Superintendent Aasu Bhatti, DSP Subeg Singh were also present on the occasion.

Specialists from the Health Department Dr Saksham Kamboj, Dr Pankaj, Dr Nishat, Dr Karamjot Kaur, Dr Gaurav Phutela offered their services in the camp.
