LIFE IMPRISONMENT TO TWO ACCUSED AND THREE YEARS’ RI TO FOUR ACCUSED IN A CASE RELATED TO RAPE & MURDER OF A VICTIM

The Additional Sessions Court, Latur (Maharashtra) has today sentenced Mahendra Singh Chauhan & Samir Killarikar, both to undergo life imprisonment and other four accused, namely Prabhakar Shetty, Swarn Singh Thakur, Vikram Singh Chauhan & Kuldeep Singh Thakur, all four to undergo three years’ Rigorous Imprisonment in a case related to rape & murder of a victim.

CBI had registered a case on 08.08.2014 on the request of Maharashtra Government & further Notification from Government of India and took over the investigation of FIR No.80/2014 dated 27.03.2014, earlier registered at MIDC Police Station, Latur(Maharashtra) against unknown persons on the complaint of abduction, rape & murder of a victim. It was alleged that S/Shri Mahendra Singh Chauhan and Samir Killarikar went along with victim from Latur to Tuljapur(Maharashtra) on 21.03.2014 in a car. It was further alleged that on the way, two accused gang-raped and murdered her by drowning in a pond.

After investigation, CBI filed Chargesheet on 30.09.2019 against said 06 accused. The Trial Court found said 06 accused guilty and convicted them.
