The Jakhar Trust (TJT) will organize a “Run against Drugs” marathon on 15th October, Sunday as a part of its drug awareness campaign. The race will start at 6 am from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar said that in view of the overwhelming response to the 3rd marathon, preparations for the 4th marathon have been given a final touch. Participation of army personnel is also expected.

He said that two types of competitions have been fixed. There will be a race of 5-km for the residents of Fazilka district, outsiders will also be allowed in the 10-km event. The winners will be awarded cash prizes.

Each registered participant will get a medal, refreshment and T-shirt.
The TJT has been organising Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi and other tournaments for the past few years to motivate youth to maintain distance from drugs and move towards sports. There had been massive participation of the people in these events.
