CHANDIGARH CITIZENS FOUNDATION TO CELEBRATE ITS FIRST ANNUAL DAY

Face2News/Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Citizens Foundation (CCF) will celebrate its First Annual Day on 1 August 2026 in the gracious presence of Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest.

Established barely a year ago, CCF has rapidly evolved into one of the region’s most vibrant citizen-led initiatives, bringing together over 250 eminent professionals committed to complementing the Government’s efforts through voluntary public service.

During its inaugural year, CCF, through its twelve Focus Groups, has organised 49 impactful events spanning education, healthcare, science, public policy, culture, heritage, environment, national security, youth development, leadership, sports and social welfare. Alongside these, the Foundation launched its two flagship initiatives—Project SAATHI for school mental well-being and Project SEWA for senior citizens—which are already creating a meaningful impact.

A major highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the CCF Scroll of Honour to distinguished individuals whose exceptional voluntary contributions helped shape the Foundation during its formative year. The Foundation will also felicitate its First Founding Corporate Member in recognition of the vital role of responsible corporate partnership in strengthening citizen-led social initiatives.

The programme will include the President’s Annual Address, an audio-visual presentation showcasing CCF’s journey during its first year, presentation of the Scrolls of Honour by the Hon’ble Governor, the Governor’s address, followed by dinner.

During the Annual Day, the Foundation’s leadership will present a review of CCF’s achievements during its first year and outline its vision and priorities for the years ahead.

The First Annual Day will bring together eminent citizens, public representatives, senior civil and defence officers, academicians, industry leaders and members of civil society to celebrate a year of impactful citizen engagement. The occasion will also provide an opportunity to recognise outstanding voluntary contributions and reaffirm the Foundation’s commitment to building a more engaged, compassionate and responsible Chandigarh.
