INTERSTATE ILLEGAL GANJA (MARIJUANA) SUPPLY CHAIN BUSTED, 3 ARRESTED WITH 45 KG.

A team of NR-I/Crime Branch has busted an interstate gang involved in trafficking of Marijuana (Ganja) in Delhi/NCR area from Andhra Pradesh.  03 members of the gang named (1) Akhilesh Bhagat, 29 years, R/o Gadha Colony, Swaroop Nagar, Delhi (2) Naresh Kumar, 19 years, R/o VPO Toka Laxminiya, PS Gamaria, Distt. Madhubani, Bihar and (3) Prakash Sharma, 32 years, R/o VPO Toka Laxminiya, PS Gamaria, District Madhubani, Bihar were arrested. 45 kgs of fine quality Marijuana (Ganja) was seized from the hidden cavity built under the rear seat of Maruti car bearing No. DL-3CBL-2854. In this regard, a case FIR 234/2023, U/S 20/25/29 NDPS Act, P.S. Crime Branch was registered.

Inputs were received by ASI Virender & ASI Sandeep about the supply of consignment of narcotics substance (Ganja) in the areas of Delhi/NCR. Information was further developed through field sources and technical analysis.

It was revealed that narcotics substance (Ganja) is being transported in Maruti SX4 car bearing No DL-3CBL-2854 from Andhra Pradesh to Delhi. Accordingly, suspected phone numbers were kept on surveillance.

Secret information was received that a huge consignment of Ganja would be delivered in Maruti SX4 car bearing No DL-3CBL-2854 at Bhalswa Jheel, Delhi. Laying a good trap could help in their apprehension along with contraband.

Accordingly, a team led by Insp Alok Kumar Rajan comprising of SI Narender Singh, ASI Virender, ASI Sandeep, ASI Yogesh, ASI Manoj, HC Dinesh, HC Sanjeev and W/Ct. Annu under the close supervision of ACP Vivek Tyagi was constituted by DCP Sanjay Bhatia to nab the drug traffickers.

A trap was laid on service road, near Bhalaswa Jheel, Delhi. Maruti Car SX4 having number DL-3CBL-2854 was intercepted and 03 persons were apprehended. On interrogation, they disclosed their identities as (1) Akhilesh Bhagat, 29 years, (2) Prakash Sharma, 32 years, (3) Naresh Kumar, 19 years.

(SUBHEAD)On detailed search of the car, it was found that dikki of the car is smaller than normal size. On sustained interrogation of the driver, it was disclosed that the rear seat of the car is foldable and there is a hidden cavity under the rear seat of the car, specially designed for the purpose of hiding contraband. After folding the rear seat, a cavity was found beneath it, which was covered with wooden plate and fixed with screws. Wooden plate was opened and 45 Kgs of fine quality Ganja was recovered. A case, FIR 234/2023, U/S 20/25/29 NDPS Act, P.S. Crime Branch was registered in this regard and accused persons were arrested. 

MODUS OPERANDI: Mr. Ravindra Singh Yadav), IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime,,  said, during the course of investigation, it was revealed that the accused Akhilesh Bhagat is the master mind of this illegal trade. He purchased a second-hand Car Maruti SX4 having number DL-3CBL-2854 and got prepared a hidden cavity below the rear seat of the car. The above car was handed over to accused Naresh Kumar with direction to go to Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and he also provided him phone number of one supplier of Ganja in Andhra Pradesh named Hari Dada. After getting directions, Naresh travelled to Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and stayed there for almost more than 10 days. Akhilesh Bhagat finalized the deal with supplier telephonically and also shared the contact number of Naresh. Supplier contacted Naresh and took over the car to load Ganja in hidden cavity. Meanwhile, on the direction of Akhilesh, Prakash Sharma (Driver) reached Vishakhapatnam by train. Naresh and Prakash both were assured for a payment of ₹15,000 each for this work.  After reaching Delhi, on the direction of Akhilesh, they all met on service road, near Bhalaswa Jheel, Delhi. They all were apprehended along with vehicle, while they were making a plan to supply the recovered contraband.   

KNOW THE ACCUSED: akhilesh Bhagat, 29 years, R/o Gadha Colony, Swaroop Nagar, Delhi is mastermind of this illegal trade. He is an illiterate person. While earning through TSR driving, he came in contact with one Raj R/o Samay Pur Badali, Delhi, who used to supply Marijuana (Ganja) in the area of Delhi/NCR. To earn easy money, he indulged in this business of drug trafficking.

Prakash Sharma, 32 years, R/o Village Toka Lachminia, PS  Gamhariya, Distt Madhepura, Bihar, is an illiterate person. He worked as a labourer. He met with one Naresh and Naresh offered him a good amount for carrying ganja from Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh to Delhi. To earn easy money, he indulged in drug syndicate. 

 Naresh, 19 years, R/o Village Toka Laxminiya, PS Gamharia, Distt Madhepura, Bihar. He is brother of Akhilesh Bhagat. He along with his brother involved in the illegal activities of transporting ganja from Andhra Pradesh to Delhi.
