Local police have started cracking down on bookies ahead of Diwali. Police have arrested 21 people while raiding a farm house on a tip-off. Police has recovered a note counting machine and 41.76 lakh cash from the spot.
Inspector Amolakdeep Singh said that CIA Staff-1 and Inspector Sukhjindra Singh had received information that a farm house built on RB Estate Loharka Road was being auctioned. When the police reached the spot and conducted a raid, some people tried to run away, but the team nabbed them on the spot. On investigation, 156 playing cards, cash counting machine and 41 lakh 76 thousand were recovered from the spot.
The identity of the arrested accused from different districts are Vijay Handa, Shivam Arora, Suhail, Sahil, Lavish, Amit, Sunil, Amit Bajaj, Ajay Kumar, Harjot Singh, Gaurav Agarwal, Sunny, Rishi Kumar, Amit Agarwal, Jagga Singh, Gagandeep. Singh, Varindra Singh, Sher Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Rahul Kanda, Nitin Chopra.
The accused haila from Tarn Taran, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Batala.
The police are interrogating him.
