GANGSTER NABBED FOLLOWING SHOOTOUT IN FEROZEPUR

The police have arrested a noted gangster following an exchange of fire during which a bullet hit the gangster on his right leg.

SSP Deepak Hilori said that following the inputs, a naka was laid near Sodhi Wala village situated on Ferozepur-Fazilka highway. The SSP said that the police officials on duty observed the movement of a suspicious car which was coming from Sodhi Wala village. “The police officials signaled the driver to stop the car. However, the car driver exceeded the speed of the car and turned it towards Killi village”, said SSP. (SUBHEAD) 

The SSP further said that when the accused Subhash and his accomplice Sewak a resident of Bute Shah Wala village in Mallanwala block, realized that the police is going to chase them, they came out of the car and ran towards the trees alongside the road. “Meanwhile, they fired towards the police and in retaliation, ASI Gursahib Singh and senior Constable Sukhjant Singh, the police officials on duty, fired two rounds each towards the accused during which one of the bullet hit Subhash on his leg. Both the accused were arrested by the police”, said SSP.

The police also recovered two pistols (one 9mm, one .32 bore) along with two live rounds from the accused following which both the accused were booked under sections 307, 186, 34 IPC besides 25,27 Arms Act at Lakho ke Behram police station (FIR No. 94 Dated 31.10.2023).

The SSP said that Subhash was wanted in a murder case and was booked by police in FIR No. 354 Dated 08.03.2023 under sections 307, 341, 148, 149 IPC at city police station.

“Besides he was booked in eleven more cases at Ghallkhurd, Faridkot Sadar, Makhu, Zira, Sultan Wind and Ferozepur city police stations”, said SSP adding that both the accused will be produced in the court for the police custody.
