PROVIDING RELIEF TO VICTIMS IS A TRUE SERVICE TO HUMANITY: SENU DUGGAL

“Hands that serve are holier than Lips that Pray,” giving meaning to the words of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the 25th Free Surgery Operation Camp was organised to commemorate his birth anniversary here. The closing ceremony was held at Sri Sai Mandir.

The chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal, appreciated this effort and said that providing relief to the victims is a true service to humanity. She feels that the people of Abohar and Fazilka have an unmatched spirit to help the suffering people. Social workers from other areas should also emulate this, she added.

Dr. Pulkit Sethi came specially from England to assist in the operations in the Silver Jubilee Camp. Other experts include Dr. VP Sethi, Dr. Sarla Sethi, Dr. Ujjwal Bansal, Dr. Deepak Ahluwalia Patiala, Dr. CL Bhargava, Dr. Naveen Sethi, Dr. Upasana Bansal, Dr. Puneet and Dr. Satish Jain.

The DC was welcomed by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti District President Kamlesh Dawar, local coordinator Ram Kumar and Seva Dal coordinator Barinder Singh. During the camp, 11 minor and 72 major operations were done free of cost. Along with medicines, facilities for all types of lab and ultrasound tests, food was also arranged for the patients.

The chief guest also honoured 82-year-old Santosh Bajaj besides Kusum Arora, Roma, Ajay Malhotra, Anil Kumar, Jasbir Kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Sunita and Ashwini. As Santosh Bajaj was feeling uncomfortable in walking towards the stage, Dr. Duggal herself approached her with a memento. EOM
