‘AMBASSADOR OF MATHEMATICS’ AWARDS FOR TEACHERS & INTER-COLLEGE COMPETITIONS HIGHLIGHT EVENT

Mayank Foundation supported by Punjab State Council for Science & Technology & Department of Science & Technology (GOI) & NCSTC , hosted a grand NMD celebration, aimed at recognizing the contributions of educators and igniting the passion for mathematics among students. The event featured the prestigious ‘Ambassador of Mathematics’ awards, along with exciting inter-college competitions, including a Maths Quiz, Rangoli, PPT Presentations, and an Exhibition.
The ceremony, held at a local College, was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. SS Sandhu, the chief guest for the event. Prof. Sandhu, who dedicated 42 years of his life to teaching mathematics to college students in Ferozepur, delivered a compelling speech that inspired the young mathematicians present. His words served as a reminder of the importance of mathematics in shaping future leaders and professionals, and sparked excitement among the students to explore the subject further.
A total of 80 students from 7 colleges participated in the various competitions, showcasing their knowledge and creativity in mathematics. The event was marked by high energy, with students competing in various categories such as the Maths Quiz, Rangoli, PPT Presentations, and an Exhibition highlighting the beauty of mathematical concepts.

In recognition of the invaluable contributions of educators in the field of mathematics, 35 college and school lecturers, principals, headmasters, and maths teachers were felicitated with the ‘Ambassadors of Mathematics’ awards. Their exceptional commitment to the subject has made a significant impact on students, and their work was duly celebrated during the ceremony.
Project Coordinator Arnish Monga expressed the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Events like these play a crucial role in encouraging the teaching fraternity to make continuous efforts in improving their teaching skills, ultimately benefiting the students and the broader educational community.”
The National Mathematics Day was observed in the memory of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose contributions to mathematics continue to inspire generations. This day serves as a reminder of the deep impact that mathematics has on our understanding of the world and its endless possibilities.
