SIX MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED IN JAIL MORE THAN 100 MOBILES RECOVERED IN A MONTH

Large number of mobile phones continue to make way in the central jail following recovery of six mobile phones in the jail. Already more than 100 mobile phones have been recovered during the last one month following back to back seizures indicating certain lapses in the security of the jail.

In the latest recovery, six mobile phones along with ten charging wires, three charging adaptors, 945 intoxicating capsules and 16 packets of tobacco have been recovered. following the recovery, six undertrials identified as Gurmanpreet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, Raja alias Laddi and Devi Lal have been booked under Prisons Act at city police station (FIR No. 31 Dated 10.02.2025).

OTHER RECENT RECOVERIES : In January 30, Forty mobile phones were recovered from a packet which was lying abandoned and was probably thrown from outside. Besides these mobile phones, 63 packets of tobacco also had been recovered. An FIR against unidentified persons was registered at city police station (FIR No. 25 Dated 29.01.2025). 

On January 29, twenty three mobile phones were recovered and 15 undertrials identified as Sikandar, Sukchain Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Rajdeep Singh, Rajveer Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Daljit Singh, Vinay Bhandari, Sanam, Harjinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Manjoj Kumar, Manpreet Singh alias Lovepreet Singh, Mohit, Dharminder Singh alias Fauji, were booked under section 52-A of Prisons Act at city police station (FIR No. 23 Dated 28.01.2025).

On January 23, five mobiles were recovered following which two undertrials identified as Manish Kumar, Gurinder Singh and a prisoner Gaurav alias Gora were booked. January 21, eighteen phones were recovered following which six undertrials and a prisoner identified as Dara Singh, Gurlal Singh alias Guri, Kulwinder Singh alias Phamma, Manpreet Singh alias Manpreet, Manpreet Singh alias Ghoni, Gurpreet Singh and Vakeel Singh, were booked.

On January 17, ten mobile phones along with intoxicating material had been recovered while on January 11, seventeen mobile had been recovered.

In comparison with last year, 467 mobile phones had been recovered from the jail
