Keeping in view the present scenario and snatching and theft incidents occurred in the city, on the directions of Ms.KanwardeepKaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the supervision of Sh. Dilsher Singh Chandel, DSP/DCC and In-Charge, DCC, team of  District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting one snatcher.  

On 01.01.2024, ASI Rajesh Kumar along with police officials of District Crime Cell, Sector-24, Chandigarh, were on patrolling duty regarding eve of new year in UT Area.

During patrolling on the tip of secret informer, they apprehended one suspected person namely Rahul @ ThakalS/o Bhagelu Ram R/o # 2513, Vikas Nagar, MauliJagran, Chandigarh, age 24 years from park,Mauli Complex, MJ, Chandigarh, who is involved in snatching case. During his search one snatched mobile phone make Samsung M10, was recovered from him possession.

In this regard FIR No. 02 Dated 02.01.2024, U/s 379-A, 34 IPC, PS- MauliJagran, Chandigarh has already been registeredand accused Rahul has been arrested in this case. He is a prior convicted of
murder and robbery case and released from jail in February 2023. 

The accused identified as Rahul @ Thakal S/o   Bhagelu Ram, 2513, Vikas Nagar, MauliJagran, Chandigarh, age 24 years from park,Mauli Complex, MJ, Chandigarh,  24 Years,  occupation   Waiter,  Recovery One mobile phone make Samsung M10.

Previous Involvements : After going through the previous record of accused Rahul @ Thakal, 02 cases
