A dedicated team of NDR, R.K Puram, Crime Branch New Delhi has arrested a fugitive criminal Ajay Kumar Tripathi S/o Late Ram Navadh Tripathi R/o Gandhi Nagar, Agra, UP from Chembur, Mumbai, who jumped Parole in a Kidnapping for ransom cum murder case registered vide FIR No. 59/2000 U/s 302/364A/201 IPC of PS Bhajanpura, Delhi. He has been convicted for life sentence in this case.

Accused Ajay Kumar Tripathi has kidnapped one child Neeraj from Bhajan Pura for ransom and later murdered him for not fulfilling his demand of ransom money. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 59/2000, U/s 302/364A/34 IPC was registered at PS Bhajan Pura, Delhi. During the course of investigation, accused Ajay Kumar Tripathi was arrested in that case. After completion of investigation, Chargesheet against accused Ajay Kumar Tripathi was filed before the Hon’ble Court. After trial, Hon’ble Court of Sh. B. R. Kedia LD, ASJ, KKD court sentenced him for life imprisonment & Fine of Rs. 2000.
Accused was released on parole on 23/07/2021 for 56 days and had to surrender back on 19.09.2021 but he didn’t and jumped the parole.

As per the directions of Senior Officers, Team of NDR, Crime Branch has been working to arrest the parole jumpers and proclaimed offenders. Following directions, a team led by Insp. Rakesh Kumar and comprising of SI Yatender Malik, ASI Ravinder Tomar, HCs Irshad and Satyawan was assigned task to gather the information and verify the details of parole jumper namely Ajay Tripathi.

During verification, the team collected information at the last available address of the fugitive criminal and also procured the details of jail visitors and sureties.

During further verification, it was revealed that in 2010, the accused was granted parole for 30 days but that time also he jumped the parole and absconded, but later apprehended in 2015 from Agra (UP). Team visited his last known address at Agra (UP) and it was found that accused has left this place 3 year back and has gone to Mumbai in fake name and identity of Akshay Kumar Tripathi.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain, IPS, DCP, said,  sincere efforts of team bore fruits as they came to know that he has started working as a delivery boy in Zomato with his fake name in the area of Ghatkopar, Chembur, Mumbai. Immediately team rushed to Mumbai and camped there and verified the several Zomato delivery persons and learnt that fugitive is residing in Gautam Nagar Pinjrapol Chaal in Chembur. Accordingly, a trap was laid in Gautam Nagar, Chembur, Mumbai and the accused was successfully apprehended from there. He has been taken to Delhi and will be handed over to Central Jail, Tihar authorities.

INTERROGATION & PROFILE OF ACCUSED:

The accused Ajay Kumar Tripathi S/o Late Ram Navadh Tripathi R/o Gandhi Nagar, Agra, UP Age- 46 years is a Graduate. He was working as store keeper in HSBC Company at the time of incident. He was granted emergency parole thereafter the parole was extended by the High-Powered Committee of Hon’ble Delhi High Court during covid-19 pandemic and released from jail on 23/07/2021 and absconded since then. During absconding period, he married with one lady Bharti in Agra but after some time Bharti suicide herself. Thereafter, he changed his name from Ajay to Akshay and prepared all his documents in that name and went to Mumbai with his son aged 3 years where he started working as a delivery boy in Zomato. In Mumbai, he again married and started living with her at above address in fake name and identity of Akshay Kumar.
