ONE 9 MM STAR PISTOL ALONG WITH 6 LIVE CARTRIDGES, ONE EXTRA MAGAZINE AND ONE STOLEN CAR RECOVERED, JAVED MATTU IS A++ CATEGORY TERRORIST WANTED IN 11 KNOWN TERROR ATTACKS IN J&K AND CARRYING A REWARD OF MORE THAN 10 LACS., HE IS INVOLVED IN 5 GRENADE ATTACKS IN J&K., ALSO INVOLVED IN KILLING OF 5 POLICE PERSONNEL AND CAUSING INJURIES TO DOZENS OF POLICE PERSONNEL & PUBLIC PERSONS, ALSO INVOLVED IN ONE IED BLAST IN SOPORE, J&K.

In coordination with Central Agencies, a team of Special Cell, NDR, led by Insp Vinod Badola, Insp Yashpal Singh, Insp Amit Nara, assisted by SI Sunder Gautam, SI Dinesh under the supervision of Addl. CP Pramod Singh Kushwah, ACsP Sh. Lalit Mohan Negi and Sh. Hridaya Bhushan, has arrested an A++ category terrorist of the banned terror organisation Hizbul Mujahideen. He is involved in 11 known terror attacks in Jammu & Kashmir.
Some days ago, information was received that a dreaded and wanted terrorist from J&K belonging to the banned terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen would be coming to the NCR to collect arms and ammunition. On this information, sources keeping tabs on sleeper cells and weapon suppliers were activated. Today, i.e., on 04/01/2024, specific source information was received that Javed Ahmed Mattu, resident of Sopore J & K, a wanted A++ category terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen, would be coming to Delhi to collect arms and ammunition from his associates at the behest of PAK ISI.
It was also informed that his Pakistan-based handler would be coordinating the delivery of arms and ammunition, and Javed Ahmed Mattu would carry out some audacious terror strikes in J & K and another place on the instructions of his Pakistan-based handler.
Acting upon the specific input, a raiding team under the supervision of Addl. CP. Pramod Singh Kushwah, ACsP Sh. Lalit Mohan Negi and Sh. Hridaya Bhushan, Insp. Vinod Kumar, Insp. Yashpal Singh and Insp Amit Nara was formed that apprehended the terrorist Javed Mattu. One 9 mm Star pistol with six live cartridges, one extra magazine, and one stolen Santro car were recovered from him. A case under appropriate sections has been registered in this regard at PS Special Cell. Further investigation is underway.(SUBHEAD)
KNOW THE TERRIORIST: Javed Ahmed Mattu @ Irsad Ahmed Malla @ Ehsan, age 32 years s/o Abdul Ghani r/o Kushal Mattu, Sopore, Distt Baramullah is a college dropout. He is a member of the gang of seven dreaded terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen operating in the area of North Kashmir, particularly Sopore, J&K., He is an A++ category terrorist and has been evading his apprehension for the last 13 years., He is the only surviving A++-category J&K-based terrorist.
Mr. H.G.S. Dhaliwal, Special Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, said, after getting injured in an exchange of fire with security forces, he went underground and fled to Nepal on the instructions of Pak ISI, as J&K police was hotly on chase of him.
THE OTHER 6 TERROR ASSOCIATES OF THE ACCUSED: Abdul Majid Jarger @ Shaheen, Resident of Sopore, J&K, Currently in Pakistan. Presently handling other Hizbul Mujahideen cadres from Pakistan including Javed Mattu., Besides indulging in terror activities, he also managed finances and logistics, including the procurement of weapons from ISI handlers across the border.
Abdul Qayyum Nazar, Pak-trained terrorist, Resident of Sopore, J&K. He was operational-in-charge of this gang of seven., Killed in exchange of fire with the security forces.
Tarik Ahmed Lone, Pak-trained terrorist, Resident of Handwara, J&K, Reportedly died by drowning when he jumped into the river on being cornered by security forces.
Imtiyaz Kundu, Pak-trained terrorist, Resident of Sopore, J&K, Fled to Pakistan in 2015-16 and is currently operating with Shaheen.
Mehraj Halwai, Pak-trained terrorist, Resident of Sopore, J&K, Killed in exchange of fire with the security forces.
Waseem Guru, Resident of Jageer, Sopore, J&K, Killed in exchange of fire with the security forces.
Terror Attacks in which Javed was involved:
*He was involved in the killing of HC Mohd. Yousf of CID, Sopore, near Police Station Sopore in 2010.
*Involved in an attack on the residence of SP, Sopore, in 2010, resulting in the residence being partially damaged. *The killing of two CRPF personnel in Pattan and the snatching of their service rifles in 2010.
*Involved in case FIR No. 78/2011 U/S 307 RPC, 7/27 Arms Act of PS Sopore, relating to fire upon the patrolling party of police at Bough, Sopore in 2011.
*The said militant, along with his associates, was also involved in the killing of one police constable, Mohd Shahfi Lone, S/O Gh Mustafa Lone, R/O Lathishat, Sopore, in 2011.
*He, along with his other associates, was also involved in an IED blast at Police Station Sopore, in which one SgCt Morifat Hussain of PS Sopore was killed in 2011.
* Grenade attack on PS Sopore, which involved Ishfaq Kana and Saleem Beig in 2011,.
*In 2012, the subject got injured while he and other cadres of the outfit attacked Sopore Police. Thus, the subject has some disability due to the injury.
*He was also involved in a grenade-throwing incident at the CRPF stationed in the SBI Complex in Hathishah, in which many civilians got injured.
* He was also involved in a grenade-throwing incident at the BSNL office in Sopore, J&K.
*He was also involved in a grenade-throwing incident at Chankhan Chowk, Sopore, J&K.
