EcoSikh, an environmental organization continuously striving to restore and conserve Mother Earth . In line with its motto Care of Nature Care for All started a one of a kind series to engage Ludhianavis for encouraging them to play active role in knowing about our environment and playing a key role in safeguarding the health and well being.
Earthy Tales : Tales about Mother Earth as they call the series will focus on inviting experts for interaction with the audience to equip them with the required skills to adopt sustainable living.
The tale of Microgreens; the first story was shared by Ms . Juhi Bakhshi from Technocare who is an expert and has vast experience in the field demonstrated both theoretical and practical aspects of growing Microgreens highlighting the health benefits of using them regularly in our diets.
The event was attended by environment passionates.
(SUBHEAD)It is worth mentioning that Ecosikh has successfully completed 859 Guru Nanak Sacred Forests throughout India following Miiyawaki methodology. Each forest has 550 trees of native species.In addition, EcoSikh stated that its team has the capacity to plant 100 such forests every month.
“We had started this initiative in February 2019 in celebration of Guru Nanak’s 550th birth-anniversary and EcoSikh had committed to plant 1 million trees. We have almost reached the half way point this month and this journey has been amazing so far.”
We want to thank all the stakeholders for partnering with us to create such events .This is helping to spread awareness and the need to take collective action to fight climate change.Every citizen can come forward to join this movement.”
EcoSikh has worked with individuals, gurdwaras, educational institutions and industry to plant these forests to achieve its declared goal.
Manmeet Kaur, EcoSikh Board member whose passion for environment and sustainability led her to organisation. She has been associated with Lungs of Ludhiana project in which EcoSikh planted micro forests within the city among industries, schools and colleges to combat the problem of rising pollution. Under the Lungs of Ludhiana project, 159 such Guru Nanak Sacred Forests have been created so far and we aim to boost the programme at much speed.”
Anju Bagga, EcoSikh Board member stated “ Earthy Tales is to bring together all the ladies. Mother nature has blessed us with her qualities to create life, nurture and take care. So it is our duty to make a shift in our choices that act thoughtfully in synchronisation with nature.
Dr. Supreet Kaur President Ecosikh India added that EcoSikh is a global action oriented environmental organization which is focused on climate solutions. It has been invited to various platforms by the White House, United Nations, Vatican and many governmental organizations across the globe. It engages youth and women to get involved in its projects.
