An cricket exhibition match between Punjab De Sher and Indian Revenue Services (IRS) was played at Mullanpur Cricket Stadium on Saturday under the aegis of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) starting at Sharjah from February 23. Punjab De Sher, a team of various celebrities associated with Punjabi cinema, defeated the Indian Revenue Services (IRS) XI by a massive margin of 120 runs in a one-sided affair. According to Puneet Singh, owner of the PDS said there match was organised to fill the shortcoming in game well before the league as well to promote brotherhood through sports.

Earlier, PDS captain Binnu Dhillon won the toss and decided to bat first. PDS scored 122/2 in their first innings with the unbeaten knock of 64 runs while Dev Kharod and Jassi Gill scored 19 and eight runs respectively. In reply, IRS restricted them to mere 76/5 in their first innings, with Rajeev Rishi (44) as top scorer. Daksh Ajit (3/2) took three wickets from the opposition side. PDS scored 131/1 in their second over to set a target of 178 for IRS XI. Babbal Rai (30) and Mayur Mehta (29) were retired hurt while Rahul Jaitley (28) and Daksh Ajit (23) remained unbeaten. In reply, IRS could manage only 57/6 in their second innings. 

During the match, Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab Vikram Singh Sawhney, UT Cricket Association President Sanjay Tandon and Haryana Govt’s Power Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala joined as chief guests. At the end Chautala honored the winning and runner-up teams.
