HARYANA CHIEF MINISTER ANNOUNCES SPECIAL GIRDAWARI IN HAILSTORM-HIT AREAS

Haryana Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal today said that directions have been issued to conduct special Girdawari to assess crop damage caused due to hailstorms in the state.

Sh Manohar Lal informed this while interacting with the media persons after addressing ‘Ethics Conclave’ organized under Mission Karmayogi in Panchkula today. Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sh Gian Chand Gupta was also present on this occasion.

The Chief Minister said that State has witnessed rain and hailstorm in the last three-four days. Crops have been damaged in many districts due to hailstorm. Special Girdawari will be conducted in such areas and compensation will be paid to the affected farmers. 

GOVERNMENT TO ASSESS DAMAGE TO RABI CROPS DUE TO HAILSTORM, DIRECTIONS ISSUED TO DIVISIONAL AND DEPUTY COMMISSIONERS TO SUBMIT THE REPORT:  The Haryana government has directed all Divisional and Deputy Commissioners to submit reports on the damage to crops due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm. 

Sharing more details in this regard an official spokesperson said that the Revenue and Disaster Management Department is conducting the girdawri of Rabi crop in the state from February 1 to March 1, 2024. Recently, complaints of crop damage due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm have been received. 

In view of this, the Department has issued directions to Divisional and Deputy Commissioners to prepare reports on Rabi crops where damage of 25 percent or more has occurred due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm from January 30, 2024, onwards till now and submit the same.
