On the occasion of going to Pakistan to celebrate Mahashivratri at Katasraj Dham in Pakistan, pilgrims had to face problems due to delay in getting visas.

Rakesh Nagpal, Secretary of Shri Ramayana Pracharini Sabha, said that under the India-Pakistan agreement, there is a provision for 200 pilgrims to go, but the Pakistan Embassy issued visas to only 112 applicants the day before yesterday. It became difficult for devotees coming from far-flung states to reach Amritsar today. 7 devotees from Fazilka district have joined the Yatra.

(SUBHEAD)Nagpal said that the pilgrims were welcomed by the Chairperson of Shri Durgiana Mandir Management Committee Amritsar and former Health Minister Luxmi Kanta Chawla. The devotees performed morning puja before leaving for Attari.

The Jatha is led by Delhi resident Dr. Ribhu Kant Goswami, grandson of Dr. Goswami Girdhari Lal.

Rakesh Nagpal said that apart from celebrating Mahashivratri during the week-long Yatra, the pilgrims will also perform Bhajan Sandhya in Shri Krishan Mandir Lahore and offer prayers at the Samadhi of Luv Kush. He has requested the Evacuee Trust Property Board of Pakistan, which manages the shrines, to give permission to install an idol in Shri Katasraj Dham.
