DELHI POLICE NABS FOUR CARGO WAREHOUSE AGENTS, RECOVERED 03 I-PHONES FROM THEIR POSSESION

STOLEN THREE I-PHONES-15 FROM THE WAREHOUSE OF DCSC AT CARGO TERMINAL, IGI AIRPORT, DELHI.,  SHIPMENT WAS ORIGINATED FROM CHENNAI AND WAS SENT TO CHICAGO, USA., SHIPMENT BELONGS TO ONE DHL COMPANY WHO HIRED AIR INDIA AIRLINES FOR TRANSPORTATION. AIR INDIA AIRLINES HANDED OVER THE SHIPMENT TO DCSC COMPANY FOR STORAGE IN WAREHOUSE AT CARGO TERMINAL, IGI AIRPORT, DELHI. ACCUSED WERE WORKING IN THE COMPANY FOR LAST 3-5 YEARS., DCSC MANAGEMENT PROVIDED ALL ASSISTANCE & INFORMATION IN SOLVING THE CASE.

The Staff of PS IGI Airport arrested four thieves namely (1) Sunil Mishra S/o Kamla Prasad Mishra R/o Rangpuri, Mahipalpur, Delhi Age-32 years (2) Prahlad Kumar S/o Anil Prasad R/o Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi Age 27 years (3) Chandan Prasad S/o Timal Prasad R/o Nagil Vihar Extension, Baprola, Najafgarh, Delhi Age 30 years and (4) Vinay Kumar Singh S/o Subhash Singh R/o Rangpuri, Mahipal Pur New Delhi, Permanent resident of Teh-Bihiya, Distt-Ara, Bihar Age-39 Yrs in Case E-FIR No. 80035411/24, Dated 5/04/2024, U/S 379 IPC, PS IGI Airport, New Delhi and recovery of stolen articles i.e. three I-phones have been affected from their instance. 

The facts of the case are that on 5-04-2024, one E-FIR No 80035411 U/s 379 IPC, PS IGI Airport, Delhi was lodged by complainant namely Surender Singh Yadav, CEO, Delhi Cargo Service Pvt Ltd, Terminal -2, IGI Airport, Delhi in which he alleged that a shipment was received at their warehouse and it was sent to Chicago, USA wherein 08 pieces of I-phone 15 were stolen from their shipment. On further checking, they found only 5 i-Phones missing from the shipment and an e-mail was also sent by them in this regard.

Team & Investigation:To crack down the case, a dedicated team led by Inspr. Vijender Rana, SHO/IGI Airport, comprising of SI Rajesh, SI Amit & HC Ashok was constituted under the close supervision of ACP/IGI Airport and overall supervision of the undersigned. The team was briefed properly and tasked to analyze all the CCTV cameras and to nab the culprits at the earliest.

Usha Rangnani, IPS,DCP, IGI Airport, said, during course of further investigation, all CCTV cameras of the Cargo Terminal Airport covering the area where shipment was loaded/unloaded and of the warehouse where shipment was kept, were minutely analyzed. After analyzing of many cameras, it was concluded that the articles were stolen from the warehouse.

During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the mobile shipment belongs to DHL Company and it was originated from Chennai and further delivered to its branch situated at Chicago, USA. Thereafter, the DHL Company hired Air India Airlines for transportation. Air India Airlines lifted the shipment from the office of DHL situated at Chennai and shifted the same at T-2 IGI Airport, Delhi because of its convenience and connected flights.

The shipment arrived at T-2 IGI Airport on 20/03/24 and the same was to be sent to Chicago, USA on 25.03.24. Thereafter, the shipment was handed over to DCSC Cargo Company at T-2, IGI Airport, Delhi by Air India being its one of the client and DCSC Cargo company deals in export and import of all cargo items of Air India Airlines.

The mobile shipment was kept in the warehouse of DCSC at T-2, IGI Airport, Delhi till 25.03.24 and again loaded in the Air India flight which was on way to Chicago, USA. On 26.03.24, the mobile shipment reached at the branch of DHL Company situated at Chicago USA.

After reaching there, when the DHL company officials checked the shipment, then they found that 05 i-Phones were missing from it. Thereafter, they sent a complaint through E-mail to Air India Airlines regarding missing of 05 i-Phones. On the basis of which, Air India further referred the matter to DCSC (which deals in all cargo of Air India) who got the said case registered through online portal on 05.04.24.

After analyzing of many cameras, it was concluded that the articles were stolen from the warehouse.

Thereafter, details of all the staff of the warehouse, who were on duty in the alleged time period, were obtained and 40 workers/staff of warehouse agents who deals in the loading/unloading & packing etc of the cargo items, were minutely interrogated.

With the assistance of DCSC management, technical assistance and sincere & dedicated efforts of the team, four staff namely (1) Sunil Mishra S/o Kamla Prasad Mishra R/o Rangpuri, Mahipal Pur, Delhi Age-32 years (2) Prahlad Kumar S/o Anil Prasad R/o Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi Age 27 years (3) Chandan Prasad S/o Timal Prasad R/o Nagil Vihar Extension, Baprola, Najafgarh, Delhi Age 30 years & (4) Vinay Kumar Singh S/o Subhash Singh R/o Rangpuri, Mahipal Pur New Delhi Age-39 Yrs, Permanent resident of Teh-Bihiya, Distt-Ara, Bihar, were shortlisted which were found suspected.

During sustained interrogation, all of four accused confessed their guilt and disclosed that they made a plan to steal the i-Phones from the shipment. They wanted to get new i-Phone for them but they had not enough money with them. When they knew about the i-Phones in the shipment, they made a plan to steal three of them.

As per their plan, they managed to steal 3 i-Phones from the shipment. Accused Sunil Mishra was working in the company for the last 5 years and other three co-accused persons were working for last 2-3 years. 03 stolen i-Phones were recovered from the possession of accused persons namely Sunil Mishra, Prahlad Kumar and Chandan Prasad (1 each) and were arrested in the case accordingly. Fourth accused Vinay Kumar Singh was bound down in the case for a part of criminal conspiracy.

Vigilant management of Delhi Cargo Service Centre (DCSC), Delhi helped IGI team to solve this case. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
