SPORTS TRIALS UNDER TALENT IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM ON JULY 28

A talent identification program is being conducted by the Cycling Federation of India with the aim of encouraging youth for sports at the grassroots level. Under which the sports trails of budding sportspersons of Fazilka will be organised on July 28, 2024 from 7 AM to 6 PM at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Bathinda. Boys and girls (12 to 14 years) from Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa can participate in these trails. 

Convener of the program and Maharaja Ranjit Singh awardee, Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said that the talent identification program is being conducted in the whole of Punjab, the main purpose of which is to connect the youth with sports and especially cycling so that Cycling can be promoted in Punjab. Under this, the youngsters will be selected and sent to the academies of the Cycling Federation of India, where their accommodation, food, training, sports equipment will be provided free of cost. 

(SUBHEAD)Kahlon said that the budding sportspersons from all the districts of Punjab are to be selected through trials and the selected players will be sent for the final trials in Delhi. Boys and girls (12 to 14 years) born in 2010, 2011, 2012 from Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa can participate in the trails. 

The sports persons have to pass the standing broad jump, high jump (vertical) and 1600 meters for boys and 800 meters for girls. Interested players should bring their eligibility (Aadhaar card), relevant age proof certificates, 04 passport size photographs at the venue.
