RAJAN TOOK THE FIRST HAT-TRICK OF THE TOURNAMENT

:The excitement continues on the fourth day of the Allengers Gully Cricket Tournament being organized by UT Cricket Association and Chandigarh Police as a few matches were affected by rain later in the evening.

The remarkable feature of the day was the deadly bowling of Rajan who became the first hat-trick taker of the tournament in a match played between team no. 167 and team no. 168 at the Police Lines ground, Sector 26. Team no. 167 opted to bat first and scored 67/7 runs in the stipulated ten overs wherein Manish (17) was the top scorer. In reply, the opposition team surrendered at 36 runs against the hat-trick of Rajan (3/3).

UT Cricket Association President Sanjay Tandon urged the players to maintain the dignity of the gentleman's game – cricket and play the tournament in a disciplined manner. The tournament is being played at nine places across the city and a few incidents of indiscipline have been reported by venue managers.

Tandon has taken cognizance and warned that players and their teams indulging in indiscipline will be blacklisted and they will never be able to participate in the upcoming tournaments. He said that UTCA is making all possible efforts to enhance the cricket talent of the city, for which he expects cooperation from all the players in the form of discipline.
