PUCA MOVES AN APPLICATION IN THE SUPREME COURT FOR EXTENSION IN CUTOFF DATES OF ADMISSION IN INDIA

Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA), an association of Technical Colleges of Punjab, has knocked the door of the Supreme Court and has filed civil appeal for extension of cut-off dates of admission in the county. It is to be mentioned that as per All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, the admission in the entire country has been closed on 15th Sep. 

Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA; Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh said that around 23.3 Lac students were stuck because of the ongoing court case of NEET in the Supreme Court. Due to this court case, not only 23.3 lac but other students were also kept on waiting for the final judgment. Also, due to various other reasons, including late counseling in various states, disturbance in the northeast region, students were not able to secure seats. 

Adv Amit Sharma Senior Vice President PUCA urged the government to extend the cut-off dates of admission to 30th Oct. As Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) & Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi have also extended cut of dates of admission to 30th Nov & 30th Oct respectively, on the same term the AICTE should extend cut of dates to 30th Oct, requested Sharma.

As Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) & Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi have also extended cut of dates of admission to 30th Nov & 30th Oct respectively, on the same term the AICTE should extend cut of dates to 30th Oct, requested Sharma. 

It is to be mentioned that on 15th September, the admission process of approx 8000 Technical Colleges of India is stopped as per AICTE notification, but lakhs of seats are lying vacant in technical colleges of country. Lakhs of applicants are there who are seeking admission but are helpless as admission has been stopped.
