SUPPLY OF GANJA FROM ANDHRA PRADESH TO DELHI NCR

4 MEMBERS OF DRUG CARTEL INCLUDING THE SOURCE OF CONTRABAND/GANJA ARRESTED, ACCUSED PERSONS USED TO BRING GANJA FROM ANDHRA-ORISSA BORDER FOR SUPPLYING IN DELHI & NCR, ACCUSED USED TO HIDE/TRANSPORT THE CONTRABAND IN TRUCK.

Crime Branch has a mandate to crack down the narcotic supplies in Delhi NCR and therefore started operation “KAVACH” to fight against the Narcotic drugs supplies and supplier in the Delhi NCR region.

A Team of WR-I section of Crime Branch, Rajouri Garden has arrested 04 persons involved in supply of narcotics drugs, including 02 drug suppliers namely Sandeep Kumar and Joginder, both resident of Vill- Dhaturi, Distt- Sonipat, Haryana from the Najafgarh area of Delhi.

They were engaged in supply/peddling narcotic substance in Delhi after procuring from the border of Orissa-Andhra Pradesh. The narcotic plant cannabis/Ganja is grown extensively in the tribal bordering areas of Odisha-Andhra Pradesh, from where it is smuggled to different parts of the country. Narcotic substance i.e. 357 Kg cannabis/Ganja of fine quality has been recovered from their possession. One accused Naveen Kumar R/o Pragati Nagar, Gohana Road, Sonipat, Haryana, 37 years, who was receiving Ganja in Delhi was arrested. Besides him, source of contraband/Ganja namely Rajesh Adikathia R/o Vill- Pondei, PO- Sambai, PS- Pottangi, Distt- Koraput, Odisha, age- 32 Years was also arrested in the case.

TEAM AND OPERATION

The (WR-I) unit of Crime Branch under supervision of ACP/WR-I maintains a strict vigil on active criminals and organized crimes through regular surveillances and secret informers, to curb menace of crime being committed by criminals. Therefore, to track the movement of Narcotics suppliers and to curtail the supply in Delhi NCR, a team of WR-I/Crime Branch, comprising W/SI Amolak, SI Anil Kumar, ASI Suresh Kumar, ASI Anil, HC Sandeep Yadav, HC Mahipal, HC Ajay, HC Siddharth, Ct. Vishal, W/Ct. Neetu and W/Ct Priyanka headed by Insp. Sandeep Yadav under the close supervision of Sh. Ajay Kumar, ACP/WR-I was constituted by the undersigned.

Mr. Satish Kumar DCP, Crime Branch said,accused Sandeep Kumar revealed that he has been peddling cannabis/Ganja after procuring it from the border of Orissa-Andhra Pradesh, on the directions of Naveen and his associates. It was also disclosed that the recovered narcotics substance is to be delivered to that Naveen and one other person. The accused Naveen Kumar was also arrested from the spot while collecting/receiving and loading the Ganja in his van. During investigation, the name of the source of the cannabis/Ganja was revealed as Rajesh Adikathia, a resident of Odisha, who loaded the cannabis/Ganja in the truck from the Parvatipuram area, Andhra Pradesh (border area of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh) to hide the same from Law Enforcement Agencies.

INTERROGATION:- Mr. Satish Kumar DCP, Crime Branch said,accused Sandeep Kumar revealed that he has been peddling cannabis/Ganja after procuring it from the border of Orissa-Andhra Pradesh, on the directions of Naveen and his associates. It was also disclosed that the recovered narcotics substance is to be delivered to that Naveen and one other person. The accused Naveen Kumar was also arrested from the spot while collecting/receiving and loading the Ganja in his van.

During investigation, the name of the source of the cannabis/Ganja was revealed as Rajesh Adikathia, a resident of Odisha, who loaded the cannabis/Ganja in the truck from the Parvatipuram area, Andhra Pradesh (border area of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh) to hide the same from Law Enforcement Agencies. The accused persons bring Canabis/Ganja in trucks in the shadow of the other goods loaded in the truck to hide the Contraband from police.

KNOW THE ACCUSED: Accused Sandeep Kumar (supplier) was born in his native village Dhaturi and he had studied up to 12th Class from the Govt School of his village. He started working as truck driver. Thereafter, he bought his own auto, but suffered losses. Then he sold his auto and purchased a Eicher Canter on loan. To pay the loan of his truck and to get recovered from the earlier losses, he wanted to earn easy money and therefore came in contact with Naveen, who lured him to bring Ganja from Odisha-Andhra Pradesh Border on a lucrative commission/percentage basis. Therefore, to earn easy money he got ready to bring the Contraband from Odisha-Andhra Pradesh Border

Accused Naveen Kumar (supplier) born in his native village and had studied up to 10th Class from the Govt School of his native village. He works as a mechanic of CNG garage. After his 2nd marriage, his family has removed him from his house and therefore he started to live in a rented house. He was arrested in a murder case in Haryana. To meet daily needs and to maintain 02 families, he required extra money. He came in contact with the drugs suppliers and started selling drugs. But he did not earn sufficient money, therefore, he along with his associate planned to bring the contraband from Odisha- Andhra Border, so that he could earn quick money.

Accused Rajesh Adikathia (source of Contraband) born in his native village in Odisha and studied up to 08th Class and started farming in his village. His father died at an early stage and he being the eldest son of the family, therefore has to earn the livelihood for the family. To earn the easy money, he started selling Ganja from his fields and the other cultivators of Odisha. He was arrested in Odisha for selling Ganja and he remained in jail for 2 Years, after coming out from jail he again got in touch with his inmates of jail and again started selling Ganja. He also made connections with the other suppliers and planned to sell the Ganja from the borders area in Andhra so that Police and other agencies could not trace them.

Accused persons including supplier, Receivers and source of Contraband has been arrested in the case and further investigation is in progress.
