The Ld. Trial Court of ASJ Patna has today on 27.09.2024 convicted two accused including Mukhlal Paswan, then SHO of P.S. Brahra, Distt Purnea (Bihar) and Arvind Kumar Jha, then Inspector, in a case related to murder of Santosh Kumar Singh R/o Jotaily, PS Bihariganj, Distt. Purnea, Bihar.
Investigation of the case was transferred to CBI by Govt. of Bihar. CBI re-registered the case on 16.03.2001 U/s 302 and 34 of IPC. It was alleged that a police team headed by Mukhlal Paswan, then SHO of P.S. Brahra, Distt Purnea and others had fired on the accused from point blank range on 12.12.1998 resulting into his death.
After completion of investigation, chargesheet was filed on 20.12.2002 by CBI against accused officials of Bihar Police.
After trial, the Court held both accused guilty. The quantum of sentence will be pronounced on 08.10.2024.
