MoS MURUGAN, DADI RATANMOHINI INAUGURATE MEDIA CONFERENCE

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan and BK Chief Administrator Dadi Ratanmohini inaugurated the National Media Conference at Brahma Kumaris international headquarters by lighting lamps at Abu Road.

Dr Murugan said that the media has an important role to play in building a developed India. Today, good news does not go viral as fast as wrong, throwaway news goes viral. Journalists should first check the veracity of the news and then publish it. Promoting good news can only build a healthy and happy society.

(SUBHEAD)Today, if a negative atmosphere is being created, then we need to think about what we are sending to society. To build a value-based society, we have to inculcate values in life. The media is the most powerful tool for information, which gathers information from the Himalayas to the desert. The MoS was honoured on the occasion.  

Dr Man Singh Parmar, former Vice Chancellor of Kushabhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Raipur said that today's news is being exaggerated in electronic media. Kuldeep Singh, former Principal DG PIB said, “We have to uphold our values in journalism”.

Former DG of IIMC Prof Sanjay Dwivedi said that we have to stop promoting and broadcasting obscene content.

Media Wing chairperson BK Karuna Bhai and Headquarters national coordinator BK Shantanu also spoke.
