CBI ARRESTS RAILWAY’s SR. DEN, NER, VARANASI WHILE DEMANDING AND ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS 02 LAKH

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Railway’s Sr. Den, NER, Varanasi UP) while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 02 lakh from the complainant.

A case was registered by CBI on 01.10.2024 on a complaint against accused Sr. DEN, NER , Varanasi on allegations that a private firm of the complainant has been awarded two tenders of approx. Rs. 4 crores by said Sr. DEN on 25.07.2024 for maintenance of Railway Tracks from Thawe to Chhapra. It was alleged that accused demanded bribe of Rs. 2 lakhs from the complainant and threatened to obstruct the work and not pass his bills in future unless the bribe amount was paid.

CBI laid a trap and caught said accused red handed while demanding and accepting undue advantage of Rs. 2 lakhs from the complainant. Accused was arrested . Searches were conducted by CBI at the residential premises of accused.  Investigation is continuing.
