In an effort to curb air pollution and promote environmental sustainability, the UT Administration has permitted the use of eco-friendly green crackers during the forthcoming festivals of Dussehra, Diwali, and Gurpurab.
This decision, taken during the meeting with Administrator, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, emphasizes the commitment of the Chandigarh Administration towards a cleaner and healthier environment.
The allowed timings are as follows: Dussehra 12th October 2024 Use of green crackers for Burning of effigies Diwali: 31st October 2024 (8:00 PM to 10:00 PM) Gurpurab: 15th November 2024 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM & 9:0
Residents of Chandigarh, will be able to celebrate these festivals with green crackers within designated time limits.
