The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, celebrated the festival of Dussehra with children residing at Children Home, Snehalaya for Boys, Maloya, Chandigarh. The celebration was graced by the Secretary of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration, as the Chief Guest, and the Chairperson of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) as the Guest of Honour.
The children of Snehalaya showcased their talents with an engaging performance of Ram Leela, followed by the symbolic burning of Ravan’s effigy, an effigy that the children of Snehalaya proudly crafted themselves. This hands-on activity aimed to foster a sense of pride, creativity, and accomplishment among the young participants.
The festivities were filled with joy, laughter, and a vibrant sense of community. The children were served a special meal as part of the celebrations, and they wholeheartedly enjoyed the experience, making the occasion memorable for everyone involved.
