RAILWAYS BEAT CHANDIGARH BY 181 RUNS IN RANJI TROPHY MATCH

Railways beat Chandigarh by 181 runs in their opening encounter of Ranji Trophy match being played at GMSSS-26 on Sunday. Railways bowlers maintained their dominance and bowled out UT boys cheaply for 159 to win the match. Earlier, in reply to Railways' 142 in the first innings, hosts were bundled out for 109 which gave a marginal lead of 33 runs to visitors. Later, Railways scored 307 runs and posed a challenge of 341 to Chandigarh. 

On the third day of the match, Chandigarh resumed its overnight innings from 31/1 and could only add 128 runs. Arslan Khan (46) was the top scorer while Ankit Kaushik contributed 45 runs. Akash Pandey took four wickets while Karn Sharma managed three . Chandigarh will play its next match against Assam on October 18 at Guwahati.
