Face2News/Chandigarh,

A brilliant century from Ankit Kaushik has put Chandigarh into a commanding position against host Jharkhand on the third day of the Ranji Trophy match being played at Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur. The visitors were bundled out for 290 and thereafter Jharkhand is struggling at 28/3 in its second innings.

Earlier, Chandigarh resumed its overnight score of 34/0. Arslan Khan and Shivam Bhambri added 62 runs for the first wicket. The partnership was broken with the dismissal of Shivam (27). Later skipper Manan Vohra (19) also couldn’t stayed long. Khan (76) lost his wicket with 159/3 on the board. Middle order – Raj Angad Bawa (16), Mayank Sidhu (6) and Gurinder Singh (0) also failed to support Ankit much. Despite the dismissal of tailenders Jagjit Singh Sandhu (16), Vishu (4) and Nishunk Birla (4), Ankit held its fort. Anukul Rai dismissed Ankit to wrap up Chandigarh at 290. Ankit smashed 13 boundaries and a six in his innings of 112. Aditya Singh took three wickets.

Nishank Birla (2/5) gave UT boys early breakthroughs as Vishu (1/18) supported him well. Jharkhand is still trailing by 60 runs in its second inning .
