Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Sarangpur to pay his respect at the Smriti Mandir that was developed in sacred memory of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the fifth spiritual head of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha who had also served as Kothari at the Sarangpur Mandir and played a vital role in the development of the complex.

Shah was welcomed to the BAPS Mandir by Narayanmuni Swami and Brahmavihari Swami. After meeting other senior saints, he went to the Pramukh Swami Smriti Mandir for darshan and prayer. Here, he recalled his affectionate memories of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and offered heartfelt prayers for India's progress, security, and well-being.
