The Hindu community across Pakistan celebrated the religious festival of Diwali with great fervour. A central event was organised by the Evacuee Trust Property Board at the Krishna Temple on Ravi Road, Lahore.

Among the notable participants were Soheil Raza, a member of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Deputy Secretary Amjad Altaf Awan, Assistant Security Officer Asim Chaudhry, PRO Ghulam Mohiuddin, Hindu leader Arun Kumar, and members of the Muslim Unity, as well as prominent figures from Sikh and Christian communities. Chairman of the ETPB, Syed Ata-ur Rehman, congratulated the Hindu community on Diwali.

(SUBHEAD)Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan Chairman Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi also participated in the Diwali celebrations at Krishna Temple. He lighted lamps and said that different communities can be brought closer by actively participating in such festivals. There should be prayers for peace and normal relations between people in India and Pakistan.

Following orders from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) adorned Krishna Temple, the historic Valmiki Temple in the Neela Gumbad area, and the Jain Mandir near old Anarkali Bazaar.

PHA Director General Muhammad Tahir Wattoo congratulated the Hindu community on this special occasion and emphasised the PHA’s commitment to religious tolerance and harmony.
