Giving a final touch to the preparations, the Jakhar Trust activists hope for a good participation in the 5th marathon race on November 17.
Convener and MLA Sandeep Jakhar said his father Surinder Kumar Jakhar, during his lifetime, had organised hundreds of medical camps and sports festivals with the slogan of "Nashon se door, khelon ki aur”. The Jakhar Trust was working to fulfill his dreams, marathon race is part of that.
Jakhar said that there shall be a five-kilometer race for boys and girls above 12 years, ten km race for boys and girls above 14 years and 21 km race for players above 16 years. This time, especially for the participants in the 21 and 10 km race, timing will be noted through a chip system and the winners will be awarded a total of cash prize of approximately Rs 1.70 lakh.

All those participating in the marathon will be gifted refreshments, t-shirt and medal by the Trust. Only participants from Fazilka district can participate in the 5-kilometer race, other districts of Punjab in the 10-km race, 21-km race is open for all the states
