ALUMNI CRICKET BASH 2024 : MAYO COLLEGE, AJMER DEFEATED DOON SCHOOL, DEHRADUN IN A SUPER OVER.

The ninth Alumni Cricket Bash 2024 was formally kicked off at PCA’s Mullanpur Stadium wherein four matches were played on the first day. Mayo College, Ajmer beat Doon School, Dehradun in a super over was key feature of the day.

Doon School won the toss and decided to field first. Mayo College scored 151 runs in the stipulated twenty overs wherein Rahul Jain (40) was the top scorer. In reply, Doon School levelled the score at the loss of six wickets with the fine contribution from Ashwin Agarwal (52). In the super over, Doon School scored 5/1 runs in the single over.

In reply, Sherry Singh smashed a sixer in the very first delivery to seal the win for Mayo College. In another league match, Scindia School, Gwalior defeated Daly College, Indore by 39 runs. Unbeaten Mayank (50) helped Scindians to pile up 168/7. In reply, despite a brilliant innings by Nitiraj Singh (50), Daly College was restricted to 129 runs.

In the third match of the day, the host Lawrence School, Sanawar lost to Daly College, Indore by four wickets. Sangram Singh scored a century to take Lawrence School to a respectable score of 160/6. Daly College surpassed the given target given in the 17th over at the loss of six wickets. Yuvraj Bhalla added 49 runs. In the last match of the day, Scindia School, Gwalior defeated Doon School, Dehradun by 52 runs. Scindians scored 188/6 runs with the help of Akshay Bhargav (55) while the opposition team was bundled out for 136. Shaurya Sharma (53) was the top scorer of the side. Four matches will be played on Saturday while the semi-finals and final match will be held on Sunday.
