The all-rounder display from Raj Angad Bawa steered UT boys to register second consecutive at the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy being played at Vizag on Monday. Bawa contributed 30 valuable runs followed by clinching three wickets as Chandigarh beat Vidarbha by five runs.

Earlier, Vidarbha won the toss and decided to field. Chandigarh got an early blow in the form of skipper Manan Vohra (5). A 72 run partnership between Arjun Azad and Shivam Bhambr laid the strong foundation for the team's total. Arjun scored 39 runs while top scorer Shivam Bhambri contributed 75 runs. Bawa scored vital thirty runs by hitting three sixes and a four in just 18 balls. Chandigarh piled 191/9 runs in the stipulated twenty overs. Dinesh Parwani (4/56) took four wickets.

In reply, Vidarbha was once struggling at 89/5 but middle order batsman AV Wankhede's valuable 72 runs brought the team out of the troubled water and steered closer to the target. Vidarbha needed 12 runs in the last over but Jagjit Sandhu (3/41) dismissed two tail-enders and restricted Vidarbha to 186/9. Raj Angad Bawa (3/33) also took three wickets while Sandeep Sharma (2/26) clinched two.

Team is scheduled to play its third match against Assam on November 27.
