ANTF, CRIME BRANCH RECOVERED 15.670 KG CHARAS WORTH APPROX. RS. 3 CRORES, FIVE AMONG THREE NEPAL NATIONALS NABBED

CHARAS SUPPLY FROM NEPAL AND HIMACHAL PRADEDH, TWO ARRESTED FROM CHANDIGARH

Under the ongoing drive against drug traffickers in Delhi, a Narco-Syndicate indulged in supplying of Charas has been dismantled, leading to the arrest of five key operatives including three Nepal Nationals.  High-valued narcotics seizure: 15.670 kg Charas worth approximately ₹3 crore in international market recovered. The recovered Charas was sourced from Nepal and Kasol Himachal Pradesh, indicating a multi-state supply chain.

In continuation of actions against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch has successfully dismantled a major Narco-Syndicate indulged in supply of Charas from Nepal and Kasol, Himachal Pradesh to Delhi & NCR. This extensive operation led to the arrest of five key operatives, confiscation of high-valued contraband and identification of substantial assets tied to the syndicate.

OPERATION HIGHLIGHTS: -

• National-Level Drug Network Busted: A well-organized Narco-Syndicate, indulged in supply of contraband Charas has been taken down. Five principal operatives (sources, middleman as well as receivers), involved in the supply of Charas, have been arrested.
• Seizure of High-Valued Narcotics: Approximately, ₹3 crore worth of Charas, in international market, has been seized, reflecting the network’s scale and reach.
• Supply Chain Identified: The seized contraband has been traced to the suppliers in Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh indicating a complex inter-state operation.
 

On 20.11.2024, a tip off was received by HC Amit of ANTF, Crime Branch, regarding supply of Charas by a Nepal national in the area of Majnu ka Tila, Delhi to a local drug trafficker Mohd. Jameel. Acting upon the information, a dedicated team comprising SI Amrendra Singh, ASI Yogender, HCs Amit, Mahipal, Pawan and Anuj led by Inspector Vikas Pannu and supervised by ACP, ANTF Sh. Rajkumar was constituted to nab the culprits.

Accordingly, a raid was conducted and two persons namely Prem Thapa R/o Sector 18, Chandigarh, PO Chandigarh GP, Distt Chandigarh 160017 Age 32 years and Mohd Jameel r/o Near R.S Public School, Nihal Vihar Delhi, age 35 years were arrested, while they were dealing in Charas in a hotel and 1192 grams Charas classified as a commercial quantity under the NDPS Act was recovered from them. Consequently, a case was registered vide FIR No. 232/2024, dated 21.11.2024 u/s 20/29 NDPS Act at Crime Branch, Delhi.

Mr. Bhisham Singh, IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police, ANTF, Crime Branch, said ,a raid was conducted and two persons namely Prem Thapa R/o Sector 18, Chandigarh, PO Chandigarh GP, Distt Chandigarh 160017 Age 32 years and Mohd Jameel r/o Near R.S Public School, Nihal Vihar Delhi, age 35 years were arrested, while they were dealing in Charas in a hotel and 1192 grams Charas classified as a commercial quantity under the NDPS Act was recovered from them. Consequently, a case was registered vide FIR No. 232/2024, dated 21.11.2024 u/s 20/29 NDPS Act at Crime Branch, Delhi.

The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of  Ganga, who is indulged in supplying of Charas at Sangam Vihar, Wazirabad, she was nabbed with 712 grams of Charas. Later on, at her instance, 13.766 Kg more Charas was recovered from her bed room of her house.

Ankit Buddha @ Thakren  is currently residing at Kasol, Himachal Pradesh. He was arrested from Kasol. He is the main source who used to provide Charas to Prem Thapa.

Pradeep Kumar – He is a resident of Ballabhgarh, Haryana and used to buy Charas from Prem Thapa and supply it to drug addicts of Faridabad and Ballabgarh.

KNOW THE ACCUSED:

Mohd Jamal, a resident of Nihal Vihar, previously involved in one case of attempt to murder, used to procure the Charas from Prem Thapa. He was nabbed with the recovery of 1192 grams Charas.

Prem Thapa, a Nepal national used to procure Charas from Nepal through Ganga Gurung Thapa and from Himachal Pradesh through Ankit Budha and further used to supply it in Delhi & NCR.

Ganga Gurung Thapa, a Nepal national, used to procured Charas from Nepal and used to supply it in Delhi & NCR.

Ankit Budha, a Nepal national, currently residing in Kasol Himachal Pradesh, is the source of accused Prem Thapa.

Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Ballabhgarh, Haryana was procuring Charas from Prem Thapa.

This successful operation highlights the continued commitment of the ANTF and Delhi Police’s Crime Branch in disrupting drug trafficking networks and halting the proliferation of illegal narcotics.
