The Under 16 Vijay Merchant Trophy match being played between Chandigarh and Punjab ended in a draw at Shimoga (Karnataka). In reply to Chandigarh's 158 runs, Punjab scored 240 runs and gained a lead of 82 runs.
Chandigarh had a cautious game in the second innings and scored 254/8 runs wherein skipper Daksh Kashyap scored 77 runs. Akul Bhanot contributed 44 runs. Sahibjotvir took three wickets for Punjab
Post lunch, Punjab got a target of 173 runs but at the end of the day and match, Punjab was able to score 61 runs without losing a wicket and match ended in a draw.
